Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has admitted that he has already considered retirement.
Agger has been an ever-present in the Reds' defence during Brendan Rodgers's debut season, with 35 Premier League appearances this term - his highest since arriving at Anfield in January 2006.
But speaking in his native Denmark, the 28-year-old has made the surprise admission that he has at times mulled over the possibility of following in the footsteps of centre-back partner Jamie Carragher in hanging up his boots, due to a largely injury-plagued seven years on Merseyside.
"I do not have a long time left," he told Aftonbladet.
"I have considered ending my career sometimes, [but] right now it is fine.
"But I have had some serious injuries and at times I have considered retirement."
Вот это сейчас было внезапно...
Надеюсь, ты не после этого сезона собрался, м?
Нет, Дани, ты прав, однажды, когда-нибудь, да, но сейчас, прости, я скажу тебе твою же фразу "Fuck off and play fucking football".
